The rest of the Christmas decorations are down and ready to go into storage. Finally! Of course I missed my chance to take down the outside lights in the 60-degree warmth. Did it in the 25-degree frigidness today. Mark it off the to-do list, yee haw.
I did Zumba on Sunday and step aerobics tonight, which means I'll be sore and whining immensely tomorrow. If my memory serves me right, it's been about 15 or 16 years since I've done a step class in public. Between learning the instructor's routine and being so stinkin' out of shape, it was not pretty, not at all. They always tell you, just keep moving, which is what I tried to do. Tried being the operative word here.
Colby's nutritionist came today. I was surprised because I thought he had really picked up significant weight in the last few months. Oh wait, I guess that's me, not him. Over the last year, Colby has gained about 8 pounds and has grown 1.5 inches. He is now 4'8" and weighs 73.6 pounds. He's following his growth curve perfectly. What a sweet, BIG boy he is!
When I got home from work on Saturday, the first thing I did was turn on the IU game. It was halftime. The nurse helped me get Colby's back brace on and up in his chair. I got the eye gaze working for him and we took him into the living room. I told Colby I wanted to watch the rest of the ball game. He immediately went through his eye gaze and changed the channel to Nickelodeon. He thought he was being funny, and actually he was. Then I said no, I want to watch the game, and switched the channel back. Then boom, Colby immediately changed the channel again, and we kept doing this for a while. It was so cute. The nurse was cracking up watching us.
That's about it I guess. Waiting for this load of laundry to get washed so I can go to bed. I recently bought a memory foam topper for that piece-of-crap mattress I've had for years. The topper has made all the difference in the world. I fall asleep easier and don't wake up with headaches or hip pain. Best $100 I ever spent! Can't wait to turn on my electric blanket and hunker down for the night.
